The Sir Robert Bond is a passenger/auto ferry which operates from early June to mid November and can carry 250 passengers and 80 vehicles. The vessel sails between Goose Bay and Cartwright in Labrador and Lewisporte in central Newfoundland. The crossing time is approx 43 hours that include a 7 hr stop at Cartwright, one of the most traditional fisherman's villages along the coast of Labrador.
This ferry service currently connects Cartwright with Happy Valley-Goose Bay and it will be removed when the Trans Labrador Highway is completed, probably in mid-December 2009.
